In 2023, my husband and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary in New Orleans. While we were there, we took in much of the local history and culture, including stories about the illustrious Marie Leveau. I came back to the studio and did this master study of a famous portrait of her (supposedly).
This master study looks NOTHING like the original painting. That is ok. Sometimes a new face will emerge.
